This Studio Saturday art class will begin with a tour of the Margaret Stones botanical prints that are on display at LASM and are part of the museum’s permanent collection. Next, participants will sketch and create a botanical work of art with local artist Beth Welch using Golden acrylic paint. By the end of this 2-hour workshop, artists will have had the chance to learn about the art of Margaret Stones and create a floral still life study of a beautiful flower. All materials will be provided by the museum.  

Beth Welch is a Baton Rouge artist and also the Assistant Curator at LASM. She received her BFA from Louisiana Tech University. Welch has a passion for painting and drawing with as much realism as she can create.
