Studio Saturday: Reflections of LA The Art of George Rodrigue

Join the Louisiana Art & Science Museum for our Studio Saturday series, taking place every third Saturday of the month. Join Beth Welch on August 15 from 10:00 AM–12:30 PM for a Studio Saturday inspired by Reflections of Louisiana: The Art of George Rodrigue. Participants of all ages will explore Rodrigue’s iconic Blue Dog, discuss characters, symbols, and storytelling in art, and discover how artists find inspiration in the world around them before creating their very own Blue Dog painting. All supplies included.

This class is open to students of all ages. In addition to the workshop, the fee includes all-day admission to the museum and planetarium shows.

This hands-on experience includes:

• Step-by-step instruction from artist Beth Welch
• An introduction to acrylic painting
• All painting supplies provided
• A completed Blue Dog painting to take home
