Curses and Candlelight: Egyptian After Hours Tour
The Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) will hold an after-hours candlelit tour of the exhibition Discoveries on the Nile: Exploring King Tut's Tomb and the Amin Egyptian Collection. The museum's Egyptian galleries tour will take place on Saturday, January 4, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Before the tour, guests will view Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs | Louisiana Art & Science Museum in the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium.
Join us for a ghostly night of exploration by candlelight. Guests will take a guided tour of the tombs while learning about the curses, murders, and mysteries of Egyptian culture. Wear your macabre costumes and explore our mysterious Egyptian galleries after hours when the museum is typically closed, and the lights are dimmed. Attendees will experience a special showing of Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs I in the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium, followed by a spooky guided tour of the galleries. Visitors will learn fun and grim facts that are kept as secrets from the everyday tours. As you lurk down the halls of our museum with your lantern in hand, you may unlock secrets of our new Egyptian exhibition, Discoveries on the Nile: Exploring King Tut's Tomb and the Amin Egyptian Collection.
Haley Jones, an amateur Egyptologist and museum volunteer, will give a ghostly tour of the Egyptian galleries for adult audience members. She will share interesting facts about the current Egypt exhibition as well as more unknown and slightly strange realities of Egyptian history.
The tour is intended for individuals ages 14 and above. LASM will supply lanterns for guests to carry through the dark museum.
