Curses and Candlelight: Egyptian After Hours Tour

Saturday October 26

Other dates...

5:00 PM  –  6:30 PM

The Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) will hold an after-hours candlelit tour of the exhibition Discoveries on the Nile: Exploring King Tut's Tomb and the Amin Egyptian Collection. The tour of the museum's Egyptian galleries will take place on Saturday, October 26, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

Join us for a ghostly night of exploration by candlelight. Guests will take a guided tour of the tombs while learning about the curses, murders, and mysteries of Egyptian culture. Wear your macabre costumes and explore our mysterious Egyptian galleries after hours when the museum is normally closed and the lights are dimmed. Attendees will experience a spooky guided tour and learn fun and grim facts that are normally kept as secrets. As you lurk down the halls of our museum with your lantern in hand, you may unlock secrets of our new Egyptian exhibition, Discoveries on the Nile: Exploring King Tut's Tomb and the Amin Egyptian Collection.

Haley Jones, an Amateur Egyptologist and museum volunteer, will give a ghostly tour of the Egyptian galleries for adult audience members. She will share interesting facts about the current Egypt exhibition as well as more unknown and slightly strange realities of Egyptian history.

The tour is intended for individuals ages 14 and above. LASM will supply lanterns for guests to carry through the dark museum. The tour will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at LASM, with a $15 admission price for non-members and a $10 admission price for LASM members.

LASM’s exhibitions are supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, administered by the RAC. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment of the Arts and funded in part by the Alma Lee, Norman and Cary Saurage Fund of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation on behalf of Cary Saurage.
